 2017 Preview 


       Susan Moore finished the 2016 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Susan Moore just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region six with a 2-4 region record.

       Susan Moore struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 36.4 points a game.

       Since 2010, Susan Moore has gone a combined 29-44. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 38th in Class 3A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Susan Moore has managed to compile a record of 152-132. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 3A and 151st in the AHSAA.

Ken Adams stepped down following the 2016 football season at Susan Moore after just two years. His teams finished 6-15 and 0-1 in the playoffs.


Heath Lauderdale will take over the football program from Ken Adams for the 2017 season.



       The Susan Moore Bulldogs will play in Class 3A region six during the 2017 season.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Bulldogs could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region six this season. Susan Moore came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

       The Bulldogs open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent West End Walnut Grove on Thursday, August 31 at Larry Patterson Field. Last year the West End Walnut Grove Patriots finished with an overall record of 6-6 and in fourth place in Class 2A region seven. The Patriots lost in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs to Lanett by a score of 53-14.

       Susan Moore and West End Walnut Grove have met a total of 43 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 19-24-0 record against the Patriots. They last met in 2016 with West End Walnut Grove winning by a score of 65-42.
